A birth chart (natal chart) is a snapshot of the sky at the exact moment and location of your birth. It shows where each planet was in the zodiac and which astrological house it occupied. Your birth time determines your Rising sign (Ascendant) and house placements, which are crucial for accurate interpretation. Even a 4-minute difference can shift your Rising sign. If you don't know your exact birth time, use 12:00 PM as an approximation — your Sun and Moon signs will still be accurate, though house placements may vary.

This approach keeps our API costs low and ensures fast loading times.

Your birth data is used solely to calculate your astrological charts and generate personalized readings. When you request an AI reading, your planetary positions (not your raw birth data) are sent to our AI provider for interpretation. Our city search uses OpenStreetMap's Nominatim geocoding service, which covers most locations worldwide. If your city isn't found, try searching with a nearby larger city, or use the English name of your city. If you haven't entered your birth data, horoscopes use a random seed that changes on refresh — this is by design for casual browsing. Once you create an account and save your birth information, your horoscope becomes deterministic: it's based on your birth date and current planetary transits, so it stays consistent throughout the day and reflects real astrological influences.
